Dental Implants – are titanium posts designed to create a strong foundation for replacement teeth or dentures, in addition to looking, feeling, and functioning like your own natural teeth. If you have missing teeth or wear dentures you may experience difficulties such as lack of self-confidence, eating, and speaking. Dental implants will allow you to regain comfort and confidence to eat, speak, and restore the beauty of your natural smile.
Gum Tissue Grafts – Gum Tissue Grafts are done around teeth that have an inadequate amount of the type of gum tissue that helps prevent gum recession and loss of the supporting jawbone and subsequent tooth loss. In some cases, a graft can cover exposed roots to reduce tooth sensitivity and improve esthetics of your smile. In most cases gum grafts can be done without the pain associated with taking donor tissue from your palate ( roof of the mouth ). Whether you have a gum tissue graft to improve function or esthetics, patients often receive the benefits of both a beautiful new smile and improved periodontal health
Pocket ReductionTreatment – Your bone and gum tissue should fit snugly around your teeth like a turtleneck around your neck. When you have periodontal disease, this supporting bone is infected from the daily accumulation of bacterial plaque, which we all produce, forming “pockets” around the teeth. Over time, these pockets become deeper providing larger space in which the plaque can live. Eventually, if too much bone is lost, the teeth will need to be extracted. Your dentist has measured the depth of your pocket(s). A pocket reduction procedure has been recommended because you have pockets that are too deep to clean with daily at-home brushing and flossing. During this procedure, your periodontist reflects the gum tissue, removes the disease-causing bacteria and, most importantly, restores the proper shape of your jawbone before securing the tissue into place. This allows the gum tissue to better reattach to healthy bone
Crown Lengthening – a surgical procedure performed by a periodontist to expose more tooth structure for better retention of a prosthetic crown (cap). This is done by surgically removing a small amount of bone around the tooth or teeth in need.
Laser Treatment – Research suggests that the use of lasers as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (Deep Cleaning) may improve the effectiveness of this procedure. In some instances laser therapy may be able to reduce and/or maintain residual pockets avoiding the need for further surgery
Teeth Whitening – Over the years, like almost everyone, you’ve experienced a discoloration of your teeth caused by colorized proteins from coffee, tea, tobacco and other foods. But yellowing can be easily reversed in most cases. Whitening is both easy and safe when supervised by your dentist. In fact, dentist supervised whitening has increased in popularity in recent years as yellowed teeth are becoming less and less acceptable both socially and professionally. Procedures have been simplified and shown to be safe. Customized trays are made at our office. The whitening gel and verbal patient instructions, as well as a take home booklet, will be given to you.
